A Lover's Dismay

He waited eagerly, 
For he thought-
She would cross his path
Like before.
All through out the day-
Just wishing 
To hear from her,
Counting stars at night,
Making secret wishes...
Days passed,
Weeks rolled by,
And at last-
His wish was rewarded;
At the end of the month-
A message flashed;
'She is no more,'
Her mother wrote...
He screamed in pain,
For he knew-
She would never cross his path again...
